There are only few days until Christmas but luckily this snowman does not require too much time, it can be made in an afternoon. You can use scrap yarn and it’s a beautiful addition to your home decoration.
I use white, red, green, orange and a small amount of black acrylic yarn. A 4 mm crochet hook for the big one and 3 mm hook for the small one. For the nose i use a 2,5 mm crochet hook. Fiberfill stuffing and a tapestry needle.

Snowman:
Round 1: in a magic circle work 6 sc (work in spiral, do not join, use a stitch marker to keep track off your rounds)
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Round 3: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, around (18 sc)
Round 4: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next, around (24 sc)
Round 5: 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, around (30 sc)
Round 6: 1 sc in each st around (30 sc)
Round 7: 1 sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog, around (24 sc)
Round 8: 1 sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, around (18 sc)
Round 9: 1 sc in next st, sc2tog, around (12 sc)
Round 10: 1 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Round 11: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, around (18 sc)
Round 12: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next, around (24 sc)
Round 13: 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, around (30 sc)

Round 23: 1 sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog, around (54 sc)
Round 24: 1 sc in next 7 sts, sc2tog, around (48 sc)
Round 25: 1 sc in each st around (48 sc)
Round 26: 1 sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog, around (42 sc)
Round 27: 1 sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog, around (36 sc)
Round 28: 1 sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, around (30 sc)

Start stuffing the snowman with the fiberfill.

Fasten off, use tail to sew hole closed. Weave in the ends.
With black yarn embroidery, the eyes, mouth and buttons.
Arms and legs:
For the arms and legs make an i cord.
Round 1: Ch 3. Insert hook in the second ch from hook, yo and pull up a loop, repeat in the next ch. You have 3 loops on hook.
Round 2: Remove hook from the first and second loop. Hold the drooped loops so they don’t come loose. Yo and pull up a loop through remain loop on hook.
Insert hook into first dropped loop and pull up a loop.
Insert hook into the second dropped loop. Yo and pull up a loop. You have 3 loops on hook.
Repeat round 2 for desired length. I make 15 rounds for the arms and 20 for the legs.
Mittens:
Make 2
Round 1: in a magic circle make 4 sc
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 3 and 4: 1 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 5: work 1 ch, sk 1 st, work 1 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 6: 1 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 7: sc2tog, 1 sc in next and each st around (7sts). Sl st in next st. Break the yarn.
Round 8: attach new yarn where you skipped 1 st (round 5). Work 2 sc in each st (4sts)
Round 9: work 2 sc2tog (2sts). Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Boots:
Make 2
Round 1: in magic ring work 4 sc
Round 2: 2 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 3, 4 and 5: 1 sc in each st around (8sts)
Round 6: 1 sc in next 6 sts, ch1, turn (6sts)
Round 7: 1 sc in each sts (6sts). Fasten off and sew together by fold the end in half.
Round 8: attach new yarn at the top edge and work 8 sc around the oppening. Do not join, work in spiral.
Round 9 and 10: 1 sc in each st around (8 sts). Sl st in next. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Hat:
Round 1: in magic circle work 3 sc. Do not join
Round 2: 2 sc in each st (6sts)
Round 3 – 6: 1 sc in each st (6sts)
Round 7: 2 sc in each sts (12sts)
Round 8: 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, repeat (18sts)
Round 9: 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next, repeat (24sts)
Round 10 -14: 1 sc in each st (24sts)
Fasten off.
Scarf:
ch 41, turn
Row 1: 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn
Row 2 – 4: work on the back loop only, make 1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn
At the end of row 4 fasten off and weave in the ends. Embelish with tassels.

Now that you have everything, sew every piece in it’s proper place, optionally you could sew a little bell at the tip of the hat. Ready.
Inside the arms, of the large snowman, i insert a piece of wire so i can place them in any position i want, if there are kids around you should avoid that.
