Tsolias, crochet doll

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution I designed a crochet Tsolia doll.

Tsoliades (or Evzones) were the elite soldiers of the Greek army. Today, they are the members of the Presidential Guard.

Language

The pattern is available in English and also in Greek. There is a separate PDF file for each version.

Materials

Yarn: Fingering weight, cotton yarn in 6 colors: Pink White, Red, small amount of Grey, Black and Blue.

The sample is made with Scheepjes Catona in the colorways: Petal Peach (263) for the head and hands, Snow White (106) for the clothes, Hot Red (115) for the hat, belt and shoes, Metal Grey (242) for the vest, Jet Black (110) for the moustache and Powder Blue (384) for the collar.

Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm

Other notions: Fiberfill for stuffing, pins, tapestry needle, stitch markers, scissors.

Gauge

28 stitches and 27 rows in single crochet worked in the round= 10 cm.

Finished Measurements

Aprox. 12.5 cm (5 in) tall.
