Ross The Rhinoceros

This is Ross the rhinoceros! When Ross was just a little rhino, he believed that he will grow up to be a magnificent unicorn. Now he knows that as a rhino, he gets to be the battled version of the them. But don’t worry because Ross is the gentle rhino you can find.

Ross The Rhinoceros will make a great gift for children and adults of all ages. 


Pattern Information

Materials
Yarn: Fingering weight (50gr/125m) cotton yarn in two colors. Color A for the various body parts of the rhino and Color B for the horns.
For my sample I use Scheepjes Catona in the colorways: CA: Bluebird (247) and CB: Snow White (106).
Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm crochet hook.
Notions: Fiberfill for stuffing, 8 mm safety eyes, pins, tapestry needle, stitch marker, scissors.

Gauge
28 stitches and 27 rows in single crochet worked in the round, with 2.5 mm crochet hook = 10 cm.
Gauge is not important for this project. However, changes might affect the finished measurements and the safety eyes size.

Finished Measurements
Approx. 12 cm (4.7 in) tall.

Difficulty
Easy to Intermediate. Basic crochet and sewing skills required.

Abbreviations
This pattern is written in US terminology.
CA: Color A (Color of your choice for the head, body, arms, legs, ears and tail)
CB: Color B (Color of your choice for the horns)
mc: magic circle
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
inc: increase 1 st (2 sc in the same st)
dec: decrease 1 st (single crochet 2 sts together)
blo: back loops only
st(s): stitch(es)
rnds: rounds
{…}: repeat enclosed instructions the amount of times indicated
[…]: the enclosed instructions are worked in the same st
(…): total number of sts of the round and/or additional information
