Between melomakarona, kourabiedes (Greek tradition Christmas sweets) and family dinners, I fortunately found some time to crochet these tiny gloves.
It is the easiest and fastest pattern I have crochet, for each pair it takes one to two hours, depending on how fast we crochet.
If you want to warm your favourite tiny hands, with your own handmade mittens, you can follow the patternI give you below.
I use 4 mm crochet hook and worsted weight acrylic yarn, but you can use any type of yarn and hook size.
We start crochet it from the fingers to the wrist. We work in continues rounds without joining them, place a marker in each round to keep track of your rounds.
Abbreviations ch: chain sc: single crochet inc: increase dec: decrease sl st: slip stitch Round 1: In magic ring work 8 sc. (8 sts).
Round 2: 2 sc in each st. (16 sts).
Round 3: *1 sc, inc* repeat around (24 sts).
Rounds 4-13: 1 sc in each st. (24 sts).
Round 5:
For the left mitten
Round 14: 2 sc, ch 4, skip 4 sts, 18 sc. (24 sts).
For the right mitten
Round 14: 18sc, ch 4, skip 4 sts. 2 sc. (24 sts).
Round 15: 1 sc in each st. (24 sts).
Round 16: 1 sc in each st. Skip 1 st and join with a sl st in the next. Do not fasten off.
For the ribbing we work sideways in rows that we join in the mitten.
Ch 5, turn.
Row 1: 1 sc in the second ch from hook and in every st. (4 sts). Sl st on the next 2 sts of the mitten to join the rib.
Row 2: Turn. 1 sc in the back loops on each st. (4 sts).
Row 3: Ch 1, turn.Σειρά 3: Κάνε μια αλυσίδα γυρισμού (δεν μετράει σαν γαϊτανάκι), δουλεύοντας στις πίσω θηλιές μόνο πλέξε 4 άριχτα γαϊτανάκια. Ένωσε το με το γάντι πλέκοντας από 1 βουβό γαϊτανάκι στις επόμενες δυο θηλιές του γαντιού.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach the begging of the ribbing. With a needle sew the sides togrther.
For the finger we work in continuous rounds.
Attach yarn to the bottom of the opening you left before.
Round 1: work 10 sc around the opening.
Rounds 2-4: 1 sc in each st. (10 sts).
Round 5: 5 dec. Fasten off. Sew the tip of the finger close.
And your done. If you want to join them so that they do not get lost, crochet a chain with 90-100 sts and sew one tip in each mitten.
