How To Crochet An I-Cord

In this tutorial you will learn how to crochet an I-cord.

I-cord is a narrow tube like rope and it’s great for drawstrings, straps, amigurumis, embellishments etc.

Materials:

You can use any type of yarn and a corresponding size hook.

Instructions:

step1

Start with a slip knot and chain 3.

Round 1: Insert the hook in the second chain from hook, yarn over and draw up a loop. Insert the hook in the next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, you should have 3 loops on the hook.

Round 2: Remove 2 stitches from the hook, pinch them with your fingers so they don’t come loose. Yarn over and draw up a loop through the remaining stitch (1 loop on hook).

Reinsert the hook in the first dropped stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert the hook in the second dropped stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (3 loops on hook).

Repeat Round 2 until you reach the size that you need.
