I can’t believe it has been two years since I start this blog. Two wonderfull and creative years. And for the blog’s birthday i make a chocolate cake, zero calories included. Thank you for visiting all this time.
For the cake I use acrylic yarn in light and dark brown and small amound of red. A 4 mm crochet hook. Fiberfill stuffing and a tapestry needle.
Abbreviations:
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: single crochet 2 together (decrease)
ch: chain
yo: yarn over
st(s): stitch(s)
For the cake:
Round 1: In a magic ring work 6 sc (6 sts).
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
Round 3: Work 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, repeat around (18 sts).
Round 4: Work 1 sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next, repeat around (24 sts).
Round 5: Work 1 sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next, repeat around (30 sts).
Round 6: Work 1 sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next, repeat around (36 sts).
Round 7: For this round we work on the back loops only. Work 1 sc in each st around (36 sts).
Rounds 8 -17: Work 1 sc in each st around (36 sts).
Round 18: For this round we work on the back loops only. Work 1 sc in each st around (36 sts).
Round 19: Work 1 sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog, repeat around (30 sts).
Round 20: Work 1 sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog, repeat around (24 sts).
Round 21: Work 1 sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, repeat around (18 sts).
Start stuffing the cake with the fiberfill.
Round 22: Work 1 sc in next st, sc2tog, repeat around (12 sts).
Round 23: Sc2tog, repeat around (6 sts).
Fasten off, use tail to sew hole closed. Weave in the ends.
Chocolate frosting:
Bobble stitch: Step 1: Ch 2, yo insert hook in second ch from hook, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through two loops. Step 2: Yo and insert hook in same stitch, yo and pull up a loop, yo and pull through two loops. Steps 3, 4 and 5: Repeat step 2 until you have 6 loops on hook. Step 6: Yo and pull through all loops on hook.
Ch 2 and work a bobble in the second ch of hook, ch 1. Repeat until you have enough bobbles for yor cake circumference. I make two garlands with 11 bobbles each and a small one with 3 bobbles.
Cherry:
Round 1: In a magic ring work 4 sc (4 sts).
Round 2: Work 1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next, repeat (6 sts).
Rounds 3-4: Work 1 sc in each st around (6 sts).
Stuff the cherry with the fiberfill.
Round 5: Work 1 sc in next st, sc2tog, repeat (4 sts).
Fasten off, use tail to sew hole closed. Weave in the ends.
Assembly:
Pin frosting and cherry in place and sew them with a tapestry needle.
