December Socks

The last pair of the year is ready and it’s the one I most proud of. First, because I managed to complete the challenge to knit one pair of socks each month.

Second and more important, because this is my own design. Yes, I design socks! It’s my first sock pattern and my first knitting pattern, as well. I can’t begin to describe how happy and excited I am.

This, all over stranded color work socks are worked from the cuff down with a heel flap and a gusset. I use 2 sets of double point needles (dpns). A 2.5 mm for the rib and the plain stockinette part and a 2.75 mm for the stranded color work part.

I am now in the process of writing the pattern for 3 sizes, small, medium and large. I hope it will be ready until January.

So here we are, 12 months and 12 pair of socks latter. I really enjoyed this challenge. I had a few bumps on the road but I learn a lot from this and it keep me sane this difficult year.

This year will be over soon and I’m thinking, maybe I should start a new challenge for the next year. Do you have anything to suggest? Do you like to challenge yourself?
