What if we spend the Easter in lock down? We will still decorate our houses as any other year. Only this time we will adjust our decorations to this new era.
Crochet this adorable little chicks for this coming Easter. They are easy to make and you can use them as decoration or you can gift them as Easter favours.

Materials
Yarn: Cotton, sport yarn in yellow, orange, black and cream.
Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm.
Other notions: Fiberfill for stuffing, tapestry needle, stitch marker, scissors.
Finished Measurements
Aprox. 5 cm (2 in) tall.

R: Round
mc: magic circle
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
inc: increase (2 sc in same stitch)
sc2tog: sc 2 together (decrease)
sl st: slip stitch

Instructions
Chick
Use yellow. The body is worked in continuous rounds, use a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds.
R1: In mc work 6 sc. (6 sts).
R2: (Inc) 6 times. (12 sts).
R3: (1 sc, inc) 6 times. (18 sts).
R4: (2 sc, inc) 6 times. (24 sts).
R5-6: 24 sc. (24 sts).
R7: (3 sc, inc) 6 times. (30 sts).
R8-11: 30 sc. (30 sts).
R12: (3 sc, sc2tog) 6 times. (24 sts).
R13: (2 sc, sc2tog) 6 times. (18 sts).
R14: 18 sc. (18 sts).
Stuff the body with fibrefill.
R15: (1 sc, sc2tog) 6 times. (12 sts).
R16: (sc2tog) 6 times. (6 sts).
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.
Weave the tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 sts, then pull to close the hole.
Comb
Use orange. Make 2.
Ch 7, turn. In the second ch from hook work (4 sc, sl st in next st), repeat 2 more times. (15 sts).
Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing. Place the two comb pieces together and use the tail to sew them together.
Feet
Use orange. Make 2.
Ch 4, turn. In the second ch from hook work (3 sc and sl st in the same st), repeat 2 more times. Join in round with a sl st in the first st. (12 sts).
Fasten of, leave long tail for sewing.
Mask
Use cream.
Ch 9, turn.
Row 1: 1 sc in the second ch from hook and in the next 7 ch sts. (8 sts).
Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn. 8 sc. Don’t cut the yarn.
Ch 18, sl st in the opposite corner, to form the strap. Fasten off.
Attach yarn on the corner of the other side, ch 18, sl st into the opposite corner, for the second strap.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Assembly
Use black yarn to embroider the eyes.
Use orange yarn to embroider the beak.
Sew the comb on the top of the chick.
Sew the feet on the bottom of the chick.
Put the mask on the chick.
