Last week i made a blanket for a newborn baby (if you follow me on Facebook you have seen the photos). I choose the qranny square pattern for a pretty and joyful effect, and i used a machine washable cotton yarn for obvious reasons.
I pick 5 colours for the inside of the squares (dark turquoise, grey blue, raspberry, mustard and pistachio) and off white for the background.
I use the continuous “join as you go” method.
For the border I make a simple shell stitch.
It has been over two years since i made a baby blanket and i real enjoy the process. I can’t wait to start new one. Do you give handmade gifts?
